Maranatha Pointers – February 2023

Here are the ‘pointers’ from our online gathering on Sunday 5th February:

Here are the ‘pointers’ from our online gathering on Sunday 5th February:

  • The Lord is inviting us to ‘enter into the fullness of the Father’.
  • This is a time for careful listening, a time of precision. The Lord has spoken to us about walking the ‘narrow way within the narrow way’. This is why it is essential for us to ‘ascend’ – to be less distracted by the worldly noise, in order to have acuity of hearing. “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says.” (Ex 23.20-21). It was felt that this is a word for Maranatha at this stage of our journey. The context of this passage is significant.
  • The Lord is wanting to teach us about the role of angels. In Ex 23.21 the Lord says of the angel “my Name is in him”. Angels will only follow the Lord’s instruction. Our partnership with them requires us to do the same. In this way we are assured of protection and victory.
  • The journey of faith is ‘one step at a time’. When Abraham started out on his journey to Mount Moriah the Lord directed him to “the region of Moriah” (Gen 22.2). The Lord often leads us in the direction He has for us before giving detail. Similarly, the Lord gives the land “little by little” (Ex 23.30). Even though we can’t yet see the next piece of the map, we are to continue our journey with confidence of faith.
  • It is essential that we relinquish our old ways in order to ‘ascend’ fully. It means letting go of the familiar and disencumbering ourselves so that we can ‘press on’ with our focus on the Lord (see Php 3.12-14). We were reminded of the song “Be not afraid. I go before you always…”
  • God is raising up other prophetic voices and will connect them, in His way and in His time, as jewels on a necklace – or perhaps like the jewels on the breastplate of the high priest.
  • This word was given during the gathering: “As you rise up with Me tonight I fit you into the slot/seat prepared for you in the heavenly places. For you have a position next to Me because of My mercy to you, not because of any merit on your behalf. Enjoy My presence next to you, just enjoy it, be pleased for it, revel in it. For from that position you will be able to do much good in the world, so in need of My ministrations and governance.”
