Maranatha Pointers – October 2026

Notes from our gathering on 4th October.

Pointers from our online gathering on Sunday 4th October 2026.

During our initial worship, as we united as one people with the whole Body of Christ, we were made aware of the vast enormity of the universe and the omniscience of our Creator God, who knows every detail of all He has made, including us. Heb 1.3 “…he upholds the universe by the word of his power.” For our part, we are to be as the child described by King David in Ps 131 “O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.”

Our calling is to be open to receive revelation from God. He speaks simply about the things that are beyond our understanding. Jer 33.3 “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”

A New Shape for a New Journey

  • A strong sense that the Lord is imminently birthing something new in the church, nation and world. The Lord is wanting His Church to embrace this wholeheartedly. It is a matter of life and death (the title of Maranatha’s last prophetic call to the nation in 2015). The Lord is speaking persistently about the importance of the heart.
  • Word: ‘potentiality’. There is a need for us to view and understand reality in terms of potentiality – all that the Lord has placed within His creation yet to be brought forth. It is like the relationship between the potter and the clay. Our ‘softness’ and surrender to the Potter’s hands, as the clay, will determine the outcome of the moulding and the extent to which our full potentiality is reached. This is a kairos time.
  • And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Rev 21.5). This is not just about the future. It is now!

Waiting and Silence

  • During our silent waiting before the Lord, with our hearts open to Him, there is not inactivity. The Lord is shaping us.
  • Ps 27.14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” The Lord will strengthen our hearts as we wait. The preceding verses describe our posture during the time of waiting. Our orientation is towards Jesus’ return. We are expectant!
  • Rom 8.22-25 “All around us we observe a pregnant creation. The difficult times of pain throughout the world are simply birth pangs. But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance. That is why waiting does not diminish us, any more than waiting diminishes a pregnant mother. We are enlarged in the waiting. We, of course, don’t see what is enlarging us. But the longer we wait, the larger we become, and the more joyful our expectancy.”
  • All of creation is waiting for “the revealing of the sons of God.” (Rom 8.19) – those who bear the image of God, who are to reveal this image, the likeness of Jesus, to all creation.
  • We are waiting for ‘Isaac’ – the Lord’s promise. There are enough Ishmaels! 2Cor 6.14-18
  • Hab 2.3 “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

“Expose the riches!”
This phrase was given and thought to have a double interpretation:

  • The riches refers to our riches in Christ – our fellowship, gifts and especially our relationship with the Godhead. See Eph 1.15-21
  • There is also a call to expose that which is wrong.
  • It was given as an imperative. It is not something for us to ask God to do. He is urging us to do it!

Watch and Pray

  • We resonate with the message of recently published prophetic warnings about a time of disturbance and spiritual battle. We believe the Lord has been preparing us as a Community for such a time as this. The important focus is our response to the Lord’s warning, over and above endeavouring to understand the detail. The Lord has been training us to view all things from His perspective in calling us to ASCEND. It is now time to ADVANCE. This is not a time to withdraw or to be defensive. Doors of opportunity are being opened. In Christ, we are juxtaposed to heaven and earth. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.” (Is 60.1-2)
  • Each member is encouraged to be alert to the opportunities the Lord is giving to use the Resolutions and Declarations in daily situations. We believe the Lord is aligning us to His will and purposes through these.  We are already receiving encouraging feedback.
  • Let us pray for one another daily and actively seek the Lord’s protection from the schemes of the evil one. Let us also consider how we can gather, in person, with others to encourage each other and pray.
