There is a sense of urgency in the Spirit; a sense of expectation. The Lord is ‘doing a new thing’ which will send rivers into the desert; at the moment we only see the start – it’s like the first trickle of water in a dry river bed. We are called to pray for the ‘autumn rain’ and to understand what that rain will bring to our nation.
Momentum is building, it’s like a steam train starting slowly then gaining energy and settling into a powerful rhythm. The Lord is hinting there are large things ahead. He says: “If I told you it all now you’d not be able to receive it”. In His goodness the Lord is giving us just enough information at any one time.
Change is in the air; the Church is on the move. We see the signs in the quiet revival taking place and in young people turning to Christ. Love is bursting in!
The Lord spoke to us of various ways in which we can prepare ourselves:
The Lord does not want to bring up our sins, rather He wants to speak to us of His purpose for us. We must let Him speak significant positivity over us. In Him, all is well; we have comfort, security and peace – His peace. This is our antidote to the turmoil in this world and the defining quality of God’s chosen people in the days ahead:
We are in a time of transition and believe that the next 40 days will be significant for us as a time to draw closer to the Lord and wait on Him as He trains us and prepares us. The transition is similar to that of the Israelites under Moses, from slavery to freedom; the goal of their transition was a ‘land flowing with milk and honey’ but the process took 40 years.
Over our transition period of the next 40 days, we are challenged to ask the Lord: What are you showing me? What needs to change in my life? What do I need to lay down/stop and what do I need to continue/start? This is an opportunity for us to make space for the new thing God wants to do in our lives/community. Unfamiliar paths lie ahead; there are no spectators on this journey but as we journey together God’s plan will unfold.
Keep a daily journal!
This is Love’s call to us; expressed in the Song of Solomon 2:1-13:
The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth. The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air.” Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me.
One of our members received in his mind these words: “I come when you wait on Me, faithful servants. To you is given the honour to dwell in My presence. I do this for a purpose, to lift you up and send you out to do My will in all the land. And My will is this – to make disciples of all nations, but are you doing it? It’s not hard when you know how. I will teach you as you wait on Me. Suffice it to say, you are already equipped.”

“It’s not as if you don’t know what I am saying, but here it is, clearly – a new day is dawning, My triumph over evil is complete, the days of darkness are being washed away in the rivers of living water.”
