Declaring the Word of the Lord

On Earth as in Heaven

A guide for daily prayer and declaration of resolutions given to the Maranatha Community.
This guide is available as a printed booklet from the Maranatha Office. Price £2.50 + p&p. You can also download the pdf used for printing the booklet here (but be aware this is an A4 sized version designed for printing on A5, ie two pages side by side, and so it’s in a large font designed for shrinking down at the printing stage).

Our situation

Our nation is changing rapidly. The Christian values which underly its laws and society are being challenged; persecution of Christians who speak Biblical truths has become commonplace. Our government often seems weak and ineffectual; on the world stage we are increasingly marginalised. Church organisations are being brought into disrepute by the behaviour of their leaders and members.
Yet – to echo the cry of the Church through the ages – ‘Jesus is Lord!’ We see the beginnings of a spiritual awakening in our land, a new hunger for the Word of God.
Into this situation we affirm that the Church of Christ is alive and is God’s chosen instrument ‘for such a time as this.’

Our journey

This prayer guide has come out of a 5-year journey with the Lord, during which we have sought to discern the Lord’s heart and respond in loving obedience. In this process, we have affirmed our unity in Christ, which is rooted in love; we recognise the living Body of Christ as including all believers in Christ, past, present and future. Also, as learners in Christ, at the beginning of something which is new to us, we seek humility which leads to total reliance on the Lord’s leading. All we do is initiated by the Lord; our ‘work’ is to listen to Him and respond to His word in obedience.

The Lord has called us to ascend to our proper place in Christ: He is seated at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion; we have been raised up with Him and seated with Him (Ephesians 1, 20-21, 2:6). We are learning to see things from a heavenly perspective as we ascend, with Him and in Him.

As the Lord invited us to ‘learn to govern’, we fasted and prayed for forty days, seeking to align our hearts with His.

We heard the Lord call us (His Church) to see and share His work of bringing righteousness to the UK; to enter into and play our part in exercising the authority He has given His Church to govern the world.

We met in November 2025 to seek the Lord. It became evident that the Lord had convened a ‘council’ in which we were called to participate. As we sought to align with His heart and His will, we were led to write a number of ‘resolutions’.

We believe these are authorised by the Lord and that He is implementing them through His angels and by His Church.

The Lord now calls us – and many others – to enact these resolutions on earth. In partnership with the Lord, we speak the words He gives us into the spiritual realms and – as we speak – the Lord empowers them with His authority.

Why ‘declarations’?

When we pray, we meet the Lord in praise and worship; we ask Him for all the things that we need and we believe that our prayers arise to Him as incense. We’re so familiar with this way of praying that it seems the only ‘right’ way. Jesus taught this way. Yet throughout the Bible we see examples of the Lord and His people speaking (declaring) His will into being. In the beginning, the Lord said, ‘Let there be light’ and there was light. As His prophets spoke His words they built up and tore down nations. As Jesus spoke to demons and sickness they fled. He even taught His disciples to speak to the mountain to cast it into the sea. In learning to govern, then, the Church must speak His words into the earth, with His authority, to bring about His Kingdom.

He gives us His words to declare and anoints us with His Holy Spirit to do so with His authority, according to His resolutions.

Let’s practise speaking God’s words into every situation!

How to use this guide

There is a resolution for every day of the week, each with a prayer for protection, scripture, declaration and associated prayer. We suggest that you use these as part of your daily routine; further additional suggestions are provided with each resolution. If you can, please join with others in making these declarations, affirming your unity with the whole Body of Christ.

Some of these resolutions are aimed at the spiritual powers, rulers and authorities which are challenging the Christian foundations of the British Isles and the spiritual governance of these nations; the Lord has led us to consider these powers as ‘the counterfeit’.

Please note that we are not speaking to people but to the spiritual powers which may influence them. So, we address and condemn ‘the counterfeit’ whilst loving every person who adheres to, or is influenced by, these powers. We earnestly seek their salvation.

As you become familiar with these resolutions, the Holy Spirit may lead you to a particular emphasis on one or more of them. We suggest that you ‘write these on the tablets of your hearts’ and use them in your daily life wherever you are prompted to do so.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Prayers and declarations – SUNDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:1-2)

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I dwell in the shelter of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.

Resolution

The Church belongs to Jesus Christ, her Bridegroom and Head. She will embrace and love Him alone; she will be faithful and submit to Him in all things. From this position of intimacy, she will be quick to recognise a counterfeit voice.

God’s Word

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:2-3
For your Maker is your husband—
the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
he is called the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5

Declaration

Church of Christ:
You belong to Jesus Christ, who loves you with an everlasting love.
You will love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
You will have no other loves.
You will be faithful to Him as your Bridegroom and Head and submit to Him in all things.
You will know Jesus so intimately that you will immediately recognise any counterfeit voice.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
You are Love.
May Your love so fill your Church that she overflows with love for your dear Son.
May she whole-heartedly embrace Him and all His works.
May she be faithful and submitted to Him in all things.
As you prepare the Church to be Jesus’ bride, keep her from all other loves.
May she know Him so intimately that she is not misled by counterfeit voices,
That this great union of love may be seen on earth and in heaven!
Amen.

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  •  Personalise the prayer and declaration for your own church congregation or fellowship; declare them before you attend church; include all other churches in your locality.
  • Include them in group prayers and church intercessions.
  • To remind you of your relationship with Christ: consider keeping an image of a Bride and Bridegroom in a prominent place in your home or place a ring on a finger to speak out loud a scripture.
  • Write down your prompts.

How can we build capacity?

How can we prepare for the resulting growth in love, in individuals, groups and in people coming to know the Lord?

  • Listen and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, submit to Him and His ways.
  • Prepare yourself by renewing your vows to the Lord, spending time alone with Him as He purifies your heart, mind and soul.
  • Deepen your personal knowledge of scripture so you can teach and share effectively.
  • As people come to know Jesus (anew or for the first time) and seek a different way of life… how can you show them where to find help? Plan a variety of podcasts and in-person events to support people in their growth in love of Christ.
  • Contribute financially so the church can purchase resources (especially Bibles) in anticipation of the overwhelming number of people who will want to know Christ.
  • Use your creative skills to create new resources in the written word and in digital media.
  • Write down what the Lord shows you

Prayers and declarations – MONDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:3-4)

I am in unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, surely the Lord will save me from every trap and from deadly disease. I am covered with his feathers, and under his wings I find refuge; his faithfulness is my armour and protection.

Resolution

The roots of ‘the counterfeit’ are bound, cut off and allegiances broken. The structures holding it together will crumble and collapse and disappear completely.

God’s Word

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19
Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Rise up, Lord! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you.” Numbers 10:35

Declaration

Counterfeit, hear the word of the Lord:
Your roots are bound.
Your resources are failing.
You cannot grow.
You can no longer bear fruit in the hearts and minds of men.
Your rebellious growth is withering and will fall.
Our Lord rebuked a fig tree and it withered; you too will wither and die at His word.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, our Father,
We are in unity with our brothers and sisters throughout the world
Seated in the heavenly realms in Christ.
In the authority of Jesus’ name:
We pray that the counterfeit will be deprived of the resources it needs to grow; we pray that it will wither and die at your rebuke.
May the counterfeit’s organisation fall apart; as it is divided, may each part of it be scattered and fail.
In Jesus’ name
Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • Ask the Lord to give discernment to identify the counterfeit spiritual powers which are operating in your locality and in the nation. In particular, identify any individuals or people groups influenced by these spiritual powers to whom you are drawn to pray.
  • Use this declaration regularly and whenever you see any evidence of the activity of the counterfeit – on TV, in the papers, in the street or in the shopping mall.
  • Include it in group prayers.
  • Write down your own prompts.

How can we build capacity?

  • Have open hearts and minds to welcome brothers and sisters who want to know the Truth. Prepare for this to happen, in your hearts and imaginations.
  • Ask the Lord to remove any barriers you – and your fellowship – may have towards other people groups.
  • Seek understanding of the counterfeit and the problems faced when its followers meet Jesus.
  • Prepare resources which are tailored to be helpful to those being drawn to follow Christ from different backgrounds.
  • Write what the Lord shows you

Prayers and declarations – TUESDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:5-8)

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I do not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me. I will only observe with my eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

Resolution

Those who have followed ‘the counterfeit’ will be enlightened by the Holy Spirit; they will leave ‘the counterfeit’ and a door of faith in Jesus Christ will open to them.

God’s Word

On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.” Acts 14:27
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-5
You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free… So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:32,36

Declaration

To those who have followed the counterfeit,
I declare the word of the Lord:
Jesus is releasing you from captivity.
You are being delivered from the power and influence of the counterfeit; enlightened by the Holy Spirit, you will receive dreams and visions of Jesus;
You will recognise Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, and receive Him as your Saviour.
Jesus is your only Lord.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
It is Your desire that all people should be saved.
I pray that You would work powerfully in those who are influenced by any counterfeit spiritual power; enlighten their hearts and minds,
Reveal Your love for them, shown in Jesus Christ
That they might seek you and find, in You, forgiveness and new life.
Deliver them from every work of darkness
Open for them a door of faith and entry into Your Kingdom
As they pass through, protect them from harm
And hide them under Your shelter.
To the glory of Your Son, Jesus. Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • When your daily circumstances bring you into contact with those under the influence of a counterfeit spirit, pray silently to be a blessing with or without words. Claim each soul that you meet for Christ, silently affirming in faith that they are being enlightened by the Holy Spirit.
  • Ask the Lord for opportunities to share faith in Christ through the written or spoken word.
  • Pray regularly for family members, friends, neighbours, work colleagues to be drawn to know and follow Jesus, as prompted by Holy Spirit.
  • Identify any local gathering places for those under counterfeit spiritual influence. Ask for those doors to be closed and the door of faith in Christ to be opened.
  • Write down your own prompts.

How can we build capacity?

  • Actively seek to build relationships with those to whom the Lord draws you, praying and looking for opportunities to bless them with kindness in practical ways.
  • Have Christian resources at the ready, appropriate to the person and their background, and be ready to share your faith.
  • Be open to hosting a home group or Bible study in your home for the newly converted.
  • Write what the Lord shows you.

Prayers and declarations – WEDNESDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:9-10)

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and I make the Most High my dwelling, so no harm will overtake me, no disaster will come near my tent.

Resolution

The Church will fall in love with the Word of God and we will see the manifestation of signs and wonders and the children of God being revealed. The Body of Christ will strategically prepare itself to support the next generation to fulfil the Lord’s purposes in the earth.

God’s Word

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.  These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” Deuteronomy 6:4-7
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19

Seven times a day I praise you
    for your righteous laws.
Great peace have those who love your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
I wait for your salvation, Lord,
    and I follow your commands.
 I obey your statutes,
    for I love them greatly.” Psalm 119 v 164- 167

Declaration

Church of Christ, hear the word of your Lord:
You will fall in love again with the Word of God.
As you return to your first love,
You will eagerly seek the Lord in His Word.
You will rediscover the power of this Word;
You will see signs and wonders testifying to this Word.
As you focus more on the Word –
and become increasingly involved in the works of God –
You are being revealed as Sons of God to a created order which is longing to see you.
You are to plan strategies to support the next generation
As they fulfil the Lord’s purposes here on earth.
You are called to govern the world in righteousness and truth.
This is the Lord’s plan and purpose; it shall come to pass.
Glory to God!
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
You have made Him to be Head of the Church
And Lord over all creation.
I pray that You would so captivate your Church
That she would once again fall in love with Your Word.
As she seeks your presence in that Word,
I pray that You would release signs and wonders.
May this lead to Your sons and daughters being revealed
To a creation which is desperate to see them.
Guide Your Church as she plans strategies to support the next generation, as they enact Your plans for this nation.
As David resourced Solomon, may Your Church resource the generation to come.
I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus.
Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • Prioritise reading and studying God’s Word first in your daily life. Meditate on and memorise scripture.
  • Wherever possible speak or share Scripture in the various circumstances you may find yourself in within your church fellowship.
  • Pray before church services for those preaching.
  • Study passages like Titus 2 that describe clearly the role that the members of the church are to have.
  • Counsel and encourage from God’s Word and scriptural songs.

How can we build capacity?

As the Church responds to this declaration how can we prepare for the resulting desire to seek God through His Word?

  • Meet with others to share and meditate on the Word.
  • Carry Scripture memory verse cards.
  • Proactively get to know and build relationships with younger people in your church. Look for ways to support them spiritually and practically, and extend hospitality towards them.
  • Encourage church leaders to create opportunities for midweek Bible studies, if not already happening.
  • Prayerfully expect the church to grow and pray specifically for 3 or 4 people regularly until they come to faith.
  • Support, with prayer and finance, organisations discipling young people.

Prayers and declarations – THURSDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:11-13

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I declare that the Lord will command his angels concerning me to guard me in all my ways; they will lift me up in their hands, so that I will not strike my foot against a stone. I will tread on the lion and the cobra; I will trample the great lion and the serpent.

Resolution

All sacred space – buildings and land – that has been consecrated to the Lord Jesus for His work and subsequently handed over for another purpose will be reclaimed according to its covenants.

God’s Word

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it…
Lift up your heads, you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is he, this King of glory?
  The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:1;7-10
I have chosen and consecrated this temple, so that my Name can be there for ever. My eyes and heart will always be there.” 2 Chronicles 7:16

Declaration

I declare to all buildings and lands which have been consecrated for the Lord’s use:
You shall have no other owner,
You shall be put to no other use.
You shall be used for the Glory of God.
Where you have been given over to others,
Their permission to use you is revoked;
All agreements are cancelled;
You shall be returned to the Lord.
The covenant made in heaven will be enforced on earth.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
I am saddened to see buildings and lands which were once dedicated to you being used for ungodly commerce, unhealthy housing or the worship of demons.
They belong to You;
I pray that they will be reclaimed for Your use.
May they again be places where You are worshipped;
Where Your people meet and from which they serve their communities.
In Jesus ’name
Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • Each time you see a church building that is empty or now being used for a different purpose, declare this resolution and scripture over it.
  • Actively research places of worship in your locality and identify existing and former church buildings to pray that they may be returned to their original covenant.
  • Prayer walk in your locality and deliberately stop and pray and declare God’s purposes for the buildings and land.
  • Pray for the land and buildings of local Christian founded schools that they would be places protected by God’s angels and kept sacred for the worship of God and for the teaching of His Word.
  • Write down your own prompts.

How can we build capacity?

  • Actively look for church buildings/land that are for sale within our local area and consider if there is a possibility of the church community purchasing them for the development of Church community projects or Christian business opportunities.
  • When buildings/land that has been used for other purposes and is now released for sale, bring this to the attention of local churches for advertisement in their notices. Pray that God’s will for the future of that building/land will be fulfilled.
  • Encourage Christian business owners to create links with each other so that they may have the opportunity of investing in a project together.
  • Write what the Lord shows you.

Prayers and declarations – FRIDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:14)

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I declare that I love the Lord. Because of this, the Lord says that He will rescue me; He will protect me, for I acknowledge His name.

Resolution

We declare life over the British Isles. The Church will live out in practice Jesus’ words: that He has come to give us life in all its fullness. The Holy Spirit will be poured out afresh to bring life into the British Isles. The Church will take responsibility for nurturing and shaping our society in godliness for the future of our nations.

God’s Word

I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” John10:10
“And afterwards, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” Joel 2 v 28-29
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you – they are full of the Spirit and life” John 6:63

Declaration

British Isles, hear the word of the Lord:
Live!
Live in the abundance of God’s love in Christ!
Death shall have no more dominion over you;
Christ’s Life shall rule you.
The Holy Spirit is being breathed into you.
Church of Christ, you are receiving power and taking responsibility
To nurture and shape this nation in Godliness.
British Isles, Live!
In Jesus name.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Loving God, our Father,
You promise us life in abundance;
We rejoice in Your goodness.
We pray that you would end the reign of death over our nation
And breathe life into it.
Send Your Holy Spirit to bring life to the British Isles;
Empower Your Church to shape our nation in godliness.
We long for Your Kingdom.
Through Jesus’ love
Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • To always remember that when we have contact with anybody else, either in person or via any type of media that we are fully present to them. Everyone is a child of God, and each person deserves our full attention when we are with them, showing respect and honouring them with love and humility.
  • Have complete empathy for people especially those in difficult or challenging situations. Acknowledge their struggles and offer to pray for them and into their particular situations as they present themselves.
  • Always ask God for discernment and guidance as to how best to offer help and/or assistance e.g. help the elderly, vulnerable or disabled with shopping or help people with navigating technology if they are struggling with it etc.
  • Help young, single parent families perhaps with support in mentoring them or help with childcare.
  • Be a listening ear to people suffering with depression or are anxious or maybe those who are bereaved.
  • Write down your own prompts.

How can we build capacity?

  • Organise regular sessions with the church community to meet the needs of the community e.g. coffee mornings where people can socialise.
  • Have groups with specific needs, like bereavement groups with counselling, training could be sought if needed for this type of group.
  • Mum and toddler groups, creative groups, Bible study groups and prayer groups. Luncheon clubs for the elderly and warm spaces with disabled access.
  • Arrange events to celebrate life and the building of relationships… a day out in the countryside; fun/sharing a meal/laughter; sharing life.
  • Write what the Lord shows you.

Prayers and declarations – SATURDAY

Declare your protected status (from Psalm 91:15-16)

In unity with brothers and sisters in Christ, I declare that when I call on Him, He will answer me; He will be with me in trouble, He will deliver me and honour me. With long life He will satisfy me and show me His salvation.

Resolution

Every human life is valuable and sacred because it is made in the image and likeness of God. The sacrifice of human life to demons is an abomination. We reject the denial of life to the unborn children, elderly and sick, who would become part of the Body of Christ.

God’s Word

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20
You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13

Declaration

I declare life over this nation, in Jesus’ name.
I oppose the spirit of death and bind its influence.
Every human life is precious and sacred,
Made in the image and likeness of God.
This nation shall no longer end the lives of unborn infants
Nor shorten the lives of the elderly and sick;
But treat them as members of the Body of Christ on earth
Who shall live to share in His fulness.
Amen. It is so.

Prayer

Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We join our heart to Yours in grief for the killing of unborn babies, the elderly and the sick.
We seek forgiveness for allowing this abomination to continue.
We pray for a fresh conviction of this evil, through Your Spirit, in the hearts and minds of those in our Nation; that the spiritual atmosphere over these islands will be transformed, and that this ungodly killing will end.
Lord, disable the power of death over all children and – in their vulnerability – be their defender and protector.
May they live to hear the Gospel of Christ and take their place in His Body here.
May the sick and elderly live to their natural life’s end, entering joyfully into the place you have prepared for them.
Amen

What will prompt me to use this declaration?

  • Every time that the pro-abortion and pro-assisted dying lobby push their agendas to end human life we must resolve to make a stand against this evil.
  • Every time I see or hear of an expectant mother declare, “We choose life,” and bless the child and mother to know fullness of life.
  • Write letters to MP’s explaining the sanctity of human life and the extreme harm such life-denying practices bring to the individual, families and all society. Support organisations working hard to bring an end to these practices.
  • Come alongside, when possible, those who find themselves with unexpected pregnancies, providing support, listening, praying and guiding them to the right organisations to help them to continue in their pregnancies.  Give God’s counsel and practical help when needed.
  • Support those who may be struggling with depression. Be a good listener and help to guide them to the best resource available that they can get to.
  • Write down your own prompts.

How can we build capacity?

  • Be alert and attentive to those within government and organisations who promote life-denying practices, so that the church community could help raise awareness and galvanise prayer in proclaiming life.
  • Organise lobbying of people who make decisions about these issues, write letters and help others with this if they need it.
  • Speak to our own family and circle of friends and neighbours about the sanctity of human life and the importance of protecting the most vulnerable and those with no voice.
  • Church communities could come together to help single parents or those with low incomes with supplies of baby essentials so as to support those who might be considering abortion due to fears of poverty.
  • Write what the Lord shows you.

Lord, give us grace to persist in faith and courage to see these resolutions implemented, and for Your people to boldly increase in these declarations.
We declare that the purposes of God are being fulfilled and that the Church is learning to govern according to the will of the Lord!
Amen.
