Worship

Recorded March 2024

Recordings of worship led by Linda and Marie.

These audio recordings were made at The Ark during times when Maranatha members were gathered online to worship for an hour in the early morning and late afternoon. This was in the context of a recognition that we are in a time of significant spiritual battle throughout the world and, as the people of God, we most effectively engage in this by proclaiming the Sovereignty of God and the Lordship of Jesus into the heavenly realms, where we are positioned in Christ.

Our worship is first and foremost an offering of love to the Lord. Only love can be the medium of true worship and adoration of the One who is the only One who deserves and is worthy of our devotion. We also worship in the confident hope that we are, in this way, playing a part in the preparation of the Bride of Christ for Jesus’ return. This is especially significant for our Community, named ‘Maranatha!’

The recordings are not professionally made, neither vocally nor technically, but they are being made available to those who are looking for a resource that will enable them to worship personally, or in a small group, with a desire to affirm oneness with the wider Body of Christ, in particular with brothers and sisters of the Maranatha Community. The songs used are simple and mostly well known, so that there is no distraction by the need to read words. However, for those who would find it helpful, there is a document with the words of the songs used below each recording. In addition, there are two prayers, written by Maranatha members, which we have used at the beginning of some of our times of worship together (see links ‘Declaration…’ below).

In these days when there is an increasing challenge to all those of Christian faith, we hope and pray that many will discover that time spent in worship of the Lord is essential for true disciples of Jesus. You may find it helpful to read the Maranatha folder ‘God’s Call to Worship’, which can be found here.
