Witnessing
We are called to bear witness to the truth. Crime, violence, vandalism, corruption, drug abuse, family and marriage collapse, pornography, promiscuity, fear and intolerance are all causing serious fissures in communities across Europe and the West. Meanwhile, injustice, poverty, and violence abound across the world, with untold suffering and deprivation.
Turning our back on God
The foundations of western society are collapsing. False gods are raising their heads. Secular humanism offers no real answers. The church and the public expression of Christian faith are now under severe assault across the world.
Listening to God
Listening to God as a community, we were prompted to read Ezekiel (Ezekiel 33). God led us to produce 'A Call to the Nation', 'A Cry to the Churches' and 'What on earth are we doing to our children?'. The documents were a clarion call spelling out the extreme seriousness of the situation in the United Kingdom.
Responding to God's Call
More recently these documents have been updated and re-issued, and we have developed our witnessing work. We aim to act with humility, to speak the truth in love.
We do this, often in association with other Christian groups, in several ways:
- We help to sponsor Parliamentary and Public meetings in order to create a non-partisan forum for debate.
- We undertake research on key issues, and publish our findings.
- We make submissions to Parliament and other public bodies on matters of national policy.
- We initiate Trumpet Call campaigns to alert people about issues of concern from Human Rights abuses across the world to UK parliamentary debates on social issues.
- We make prophetic calls to the Church and to the Nation.
