Assisted Dying for the Terminally Ill Bill
Introduction:
This Bill, re-introduced for the 3rd time by Lord Joffe, has been put on hold until autumn in a surprise vote forced by the House of Lords. Peers voted 148 votes to 100 to reject the bill. If it becomes law, it will oblige Doctors to provide lethal dosages of drugs at a patient's request, for the patient to self-adminster. Doctors see no distinction between this and Euthanasia. On Lord Joffe's admission, this Bill is designed as another step to fully legalised death on request.

A large coalition has been mobilised to oppose this bill:
the Care NOT Killing Alliance. To go to the website
