This five-day retreat helps Christians of all backgrounds to learn how to listen to God, recognise His voice, reflect on His words and share their experience. It is conducted in contemplative silence within a framework of teaching and sharing.
Waiting for God in the Desert
This five-day retreat is primarily for those who have already made a ‘Light out of Darkness’ retreat and who desire to consolidate what they have already experienced and move more deeply into contemplative prayer, so as to become contemplative in action.

About the venues
Douabi Abbey is situated on high ground in the Berkshire countryside overlooking the beautiful Kennet valley towards the distant Hampshire downs, and is within easy reach of London, the South-West, & Midlands.
The Loreto Centre nestles under the Great Orme, close to the West Shore with views across the sea to the Welsh mountains. With its quiet welcome and attractive gardens, it is an oasis of peace, giving opportunity for rest and refreshment.
Price information
The standard price is £230 per adult. A £40 non-refundable deposit per person on booking, balance 4 weeks before.
Please note that in the event of your having to cancel less than 5 clear days before the start date of the retreat, we will normally have to charge the full cost of the retreat. If a cancellation is made earlier, the fee for the retreat will be refunded, less the non-refundable deposit.
