Rooted in prayer
Jesus always prayed and taught us how to pray (Matt 6:9-13). Our Community began with a prayer, ‘come, Lord Jesus’, and this is what we continually pray.
Praying together as one
As a Community, we listen to God together. Through prayer we pursue unity of heart and mind as we seek vision and direction. Through sharing from our different traditions we enrich each other and discover Jesus in new ways.
God speaks to us
There are many ways in which God speaks to us and the Holy Spirit shows us how to pray. Prayer is an active dynamic in our relationship with God.
Seeking God in prayer
The prayer life of this Community leads us to seek God - through personal contemplation, where we gaze upon Him and allow Him to gaze upon us, through our corporate worship, through our intercession where we pray for others, and through prayers of healing for each other.
Shalom - praying for wholeness
The Shalom prayer, prayed all over the world and in many different languages, was inspired by the Holy Spirit some years ago and continues to touch people's lives in amazing ways. It is a prayer for wholeness, recognising how God knows us through and through.
We pray for all things
We pray for all people and all situations in the name of Jesus (John 14:14), believing that they can be transformed through prayer. By praying, we invite Jesus to enter in and take control, bringing renewal, healing and restoration.
More about the prayer life of our Community
Our Community is committed to prayer and is active in providing opportunities to deepen our prayer life. Every year we have an active programme of prayer events including School of Prayer, Retreats, Contemplative Days, as well as an ongoing Prayer Network and Life prayer for individuals needing prayer.
