In the footsteps of the saints
Members of the Maranatha Community have arranged trips to different places of interest from time to time. Destinations such as Lindisfarne, Ireland, Israel and Turkey are associated with early Christians whose lives have enriched the Church of Christ. We have been greatly blessed through learning from them.
Journeying together - building community
Our pilgrimages have provided an opportunity to share with brothers and sisters from the Community whom we have not previously met. Spending time together in this way has been extremely enriching for individuals and for the whole Community. We have visited places of prayer such as Spello, near Asissi and the Taize Community in France where the simple lifestyle of prayer has deepened our walk together.
Pilgrimage - the life of the Church
The Church is not a static institution but a movement of the people of God, journeying together. Our destination and goal is the Kingdom of God. Jesus is the One whom we follow and He is also our companion on the way. We walk in unity with one another and with the whole Church of Christ throughout all the generations.
Would you like to help organise a pilgrimage for the Community?
If you have any experience of a place that it would be good to visit together and would be willing to help organise a trip, please contact the Maranatha office.
