Maranatha - Living

Gatherings

Coming together as the people of God

God brought the Maranatha Community into being through a gathering of Roman Catholics and Methodists. All Maranatha Gatherings are characterised by a very special experience of the unity of the Body of Christ and an awareness of the love of God in great measure.

We pray 'Come Lord Jesus'

Whenever we gather together we endeavour to sit in a circle around a table on which we have three symbols: a cross, reminding us that Jesus has died and risen to redeem the world, a candle, to remind us that Jesus is the light of the world, a Bible, reminding us that Jesus is the living Word. Our prayer is that all our gatherings are centred around Jesus.

Led by the Holy Spirit

Maranatha Gatherings are usually led by a small group of people who listen to the Holy Spirit. There is rarely a pre-set programme. Most gatherings will focus on a theme on which there may be a short teaching.

Prayer for healing

There is opportunity for prayer for healing at all Maranatha gatherings. We believe that when God's people gather in unity there is healing.

All are welcome

Maranatha Gatherings are open to all.

Words given to our Community...

“The Maranatha people have been brought together to be little brothers and sisters of Jesus.”

Brother Carlo Carretto
